Multimedia technologies in museums discussed in Chernivtsi

On December 5, the Chernivtsi Regional Museum of Local Lore hosted the second meeting on "Multimedia Technologies in Museum Work: A Fashion Trend or a Real Help?" within the "Museum Talks". The event was organized as part of the "House of Memory" project.

Mykola Kushnir, historian, director of the Chernivtsi Museum of the History and Culture of Bukovinian Jews, and Yevhenii Kotliar, art historian, Head of the Department of Monumental Painting at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts, Ph.D. in Art History, Full Professor, participated in the discussion. The event moderator was Mykola Hlibishchuk, Ph.D. in History, Assistant Professor of the Department of World History at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

The meeting focused on the status, prospects, and directions of digital technologies in museums. The participants learned about the experience of using these technologies at the Chernivtsi Museum of the History and Culture of Bukovinian Jews and the Drobytsky Yar Memorial Complex in Kharkiv, and discussed the reasons for the technological backwardness of local museums and ways to improve the situation.
